I am the owner of three companies, Million Dollar Dog, Inc. in Belmont. NC, eMDD Distribution and Millionaire Groomer (website coming soon!). I am very proud of my businesses because it represents everything I am passionate about in the “dog world.”
My dreams of running a small business were created while I attended Bryant University in Rhode Island, however, I worked 6 years in the corporate sector slowly losing myself to the grind of big business.
Then 9/11 happened. The day that changed the world personally changed me. I realized that I was not happy and life was too short to be doing something that you don’t love. And that was the spark that inspired my entrepreneur drive.
I started as an apprentice for a Master Dog Groomer then was hired by a prestigious vet in Charlotte, NC as their small breed groomer. After 3 years, I was ready to go off on my own and opened Million Dollar Dog, Inc in September 2005.
‘MDD’ currently has the most knowledgeable, talented and compassionate employees in the industry. We offer all breed grooming, salon baths, spa treatments, self-service dog wash, doggie daycare, grooming classes and dog training. We love what we do and it shows with every wagging tail that leaves the spa!
When I’m not working – Ha! When is that? – I enjoy spending time with my family: my husband Bob, my kids Mia Rose and Mason, and my 14 year old Lab, Janet. I also love to read, write, exercise, go camping, and donate as much as I can to local causes.
I started this blog to bridge the communication gap between the pet owner and the pet professional. I intend to explain things simply and address concerns I hear from my daily interactions with both groups of pet lovers. I am not a journalist digging through articles to create a story, I’m a real life pet care professional and animal lover. In addition, I’ll pepper this blog with fun stories, tips and tricks in grooming and dog behavior advice. My goal is to create happy, healthy and of course, beautifully styled pups in all communities! Dogs are really amazing and if you pay attention they can teach us so much about ourselves.
Wishing You A Million Canine Kisses,
